Melon Vault
A Mod for: BONEWORKS
About the Mod
Melon Vault is a 2-hour campaign experience made for BONEWORKS, directed and mainly created by GreasedScotsman.
He proto-typed and experimented with gameplay for a few months and eventually produced a blocked-out version of the campaign with a definitive beginning and end, using my Custom Maps mod in combination with his own additional code for utilities, custom NPC behaviors, and scripted sequences.
He soon recruited me and another artist named TabloidA to do the environmental art for the map. This was an incredible learning experience in teamwork, communication, and practicing interior design.
This project was incredibly successful, with ten thousand of downloads of the map and overall positive feedback. There had been no project for BONEWORKS modding of this scale before. This eventually lead to GreasedScotsman being hired by the creators of BONEWORKS to work on their future games. I am honoured to have been a part of the team that made this possible.
About the Game
BONEWORKS is a physics-based VR first-person shooter. You're able to dynamically interact with anything that can be lifted, allowing you to approach combat and puzzles with an intuitive knowledge of physics. This map remixes and elaborates on the mechanics that BONEWORKS had to offer, making it a great addition to the cast of levels the base game has to offer.
